    Description

Parachute cord (also paracord or 550 cord when referring to type-III paracord) is a lightweight nylon rope originally used in the suspension lines of parachutes. This cord is now used as a general purpose utility and survival cord. This versatile cord was used by astronauts during the 82nd Space Shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. The braided sheath is made up of 32 interwoven strands, giving it a relatively smooth texture. The all-nylon construction makes paracord somewhat elastic. The inner core is made of 7 inner strands that can be used as thread, fishing line and many other uses! The reputation of Paracord is nothing short of amazing. Paracord 550 is strong, lightweight, versatile, extremely comfortable and durable shoelace suitable for use on casual shoes, runners, hiking boots and work boots.
