    Description

WoolNet Crew Neck Shirt is a long-sleeved wool net shirt with a round neck. Reinforcements at the elbows and a rib-knitted material over the shoulders protect against discomfort from the backpack’s shoulder straps. Aclima WoolNet® is the original when it comes to wool net garments. It is designed for high intensity activities when moisture transport, weight, ventilation and best functionality are the most important. The net creates small air pockets that provide good insulation without feeling sticky and too warm. Thanks to the material’s ability to transport moisture, the temperature is regulated during high and low intensity levels, almost like a thermostat. Because the net material is made of merino wool, we also get all the advantages of wool. Wool warms even when wet and doesn’t smell. This collection unites quality, function and design in one. It isn’t by chance that the military has used Aclima WoolNet for years. From alpine touring during the winter, long mountain tours, Nordic skating, hunting, fishing and expeditions, WoolNet® is the natural first choice. WoolNet® can be combined with garments from the WarmWool series on cold days. The wool net is extremely fast drying and comfortably stretchy. The garment is rib-knitted on exposed areas for best comfort and durability.

I expected a game changer, jury is still out…

As someone who can sweat a lot, I was looking forward to the promises of breathability and a quick drying layer. Breathability… Yes absolutely - but be ready to defend your honour as you will be publicly wearing mesh lol. Quick drying - not so much. I think the synthetic layers and poly/merino blends I wear as base layers tend to dry quicker. That said the “r” value was not compromised when wet/damp. Would really have liked to try the hybrid version of this layer that is solid on the chest and then mesh on the back and arms…. Not sure it is worth the money. If you are on the fence would suggest looking for a cycling tank top mesh layer (usually about $60) to just wear under your normal base layer. If you are buying… In terms of fit - I’m 90kg and 193 cm and XL fits perfectly.
