Purchasing Agent

As we continue to evolve and grow across Canada, we are looking for a new Purchasing Agent based out of our Calgary location.

There are no evening shifts and the store is closed on statutory holidays. We also try to keep our shifts as flexible as our business will allow.
What will you be doing?
This role is responsible for:
· Making purchasing decisions for your assigned brands.
· Communicating with suppliers, shipping companies, and brokers.
· Monitoring and sharing the status of Purchase Orders, shipments, brand ETAs and any other info that fellow co-workers may need to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
· Using data analysis and research to monitor trends and complete competitive analysis while working with the Purchasing Manager to act appropriately on your findings.
· Keeping information up-to-date and accurate in our inventory system.
· Answering phone, email, or in-person queries from co-workers or customers.
· Learning every day!
What do you need to succeed in this role?
· 5+ years of proven success in a similar role (a combination of education and experience may be considered).
· Solid verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to analyze sales data to spot trends.
· The ability to change priorities quickly.
· Comfort with the Microsoft Office suite.
What would be helpful in this role?
· Ability to speak and write fluently in French would be an asset but is not required.
· Category Management experience an asset.
· Experience in retail and customer service environments.
Compensation: $50,000-60,000/year, commensurate with experience and knowledge.

Administrative Assistant

What’s the job?
You will be working with the Marketing department to keep the website complete and updated, some data entry, supply & equipment ordering, IT tracking, and electronic filing organization.
When the admin work is done, you’ll be working with the Events Co-ordinator to assist with event planning, set up, attending events, tear down, etc.
We also want our staff to be cross-trained in other departments, so you’ll get to know the rest of the staff and what they all do here. You don’t have to know it all, just be willing to learn every day.

What will you be doing?
Building, maintaining, and expanding relationships with individual & agency customers. You’ll do this by:
· Relationship management:
o Building, maintaining, and expanding relationships with agency customers.
o This role will require travel within your territory, to tradeshows or other events, and other 911 Supply locations.
· Customer service:
o matching customer needs with available products in-person, by phone, and email,
o keeping up-to-date on product knowledge, industry trends, and other news & information relevant to our customers.
· Administrative:
o Providing customers with quotes,
o Calculating currency exchange rates, margins, landed cost, etc.,
o Working with management to identify, track, and achieve goals.
· General Teamwork:
o working with other departments like Purchasing, Accounting, Shipping, etc.,
o when needed, helping customers in the showroom or assisting team members in other departments.
What do you need to succeed in this role?
· 2+ years of proven success in sales OR law enforcement or military experience,
· Solid listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills,
· The ability to change priorities quickly,
· The ability to lift up to 50lbs comfortably and safely,
· Comfort with the Microsoft Office suite and learning new software,
· A driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
· This role will handle sales in French-speaking parts of Canada; a proven ability to communicate effectively in French, both written and verbal is essential.
What would be helpful in this role?
· Experience in the Military or Law Enforcement would be preferred,
· Previous experience with technical clothing and footwear,
· Experience with inventory management software,
· Experience pulling a trailer,
· Basic experience and comfort in handling a firearm and possessing or having the ability to acquire a Firearms Licence PAL/RPAL.
· Require ability to keep on top of e-mails and customer inquiries while on the road
· Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks without letting smaller projects slip through the cracks
· Must have a driver’s licence and be comfortable driving a standard half tonne pickup truck with trailer
Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 salary per year, commensurate with experience and knowledge.
